So, as I promised this is a post on The Balm cosmetics. I went back to my local drugstore and picked up a few of the products I was really excited to get. I got the Mary-Loumanizer, which is just a luminizer/highlight. I used this on the weekend on the tops of my cheekbones and as a highlight under the brow bone. It looks so pretty and just brightens up the face and eye area.
I also got two of the Overshadow Sexpot eyeshadows. The one pictured is in "No Money, No Honey". It is one of the two lighter shadows and is a warm, somewhat golden colour with shimmer. All the products have certain amount of shimmer so if you're more into the matte look this might not be the right brand for you, though all the products and colours are beautiful. I got another sexpot shadow, but I couldn't get a good image. It is in "Work is overrated" which is a nice somewhat lilac, cool toned pink shade. That one is my favourite...I love it!

Now for the product that I was the most excited about. The "Hot Mama" blush!! This is the perfect summer colour. It is a pinky peach shade with a nice light shimmer. It gave my face a beautiful warm glow and is just the perfect shade of blush.
So all in all, I am really impressed with these products and I will definately be buying more of the shadows and some of the lip colours. I will for sure be repurchasing the products shown here once I hit pan.

Drugstore Excitment!!!!

Exciting news!!!! One of my local drugstores is now carrying the entire line of The Balm cosemtics!!! I was super excited when I walked in with my only intention being to buy more shampoo and conditioner for myself and my daughter. (btw I got the new Pantene Pro-v for thick hair in the no-frizz formula....I have yet to try it out, but I will do a review as soon as I have.)
Of course, being the makeup junkie that Iam, I had to do the obligitory walk down the makeup aisle and rightat the front was a rand new section filled with products from The Balm....I could barely contain myself. Obviously my fiance did not see the big deal, but I was too happy to care. I did not buy anything this time because I was broke:( But you can bet your bippy I will be there ready to spend some cash soon. The number one item on my list right nowis the hot mama blush. It is the perfect summer pink with just the right amount of shimmer..LOVE!!! I will definately do another post as soon as I do get some products.

I was able to pull myself away from the new display after a fairly thourough inspection of the goods, only to find my excitment renewed a few steps away when I came across another new display....Twilight nail polishes...say what??!! I could not find an image for these in my search, but I already love pretty much all of them. There are some beautiful colours and the bottles have the Cullen crest on the front...so cool! Iwill also do a review and swatch these whenever I get some. The only thing I didn'tlike about these nailpolishes was that none of them have Twilight inspired names....I'm sure they could have worked in an "alice" and "Bella".....nail colours named after the ladies would have been perfect! Even names of the books....twilight, new moon, eclipse and breaking dawn all could be beautiful colours. Instead they chose very normal and boring names such as Cranberry, which is a pretty darker red(hello....BLOOD red....or newborn...or something slightly vampiric?)

Either way, I will still be purchasing some of the colours since Iam a Twi-hard and they are beautiful.

But for now off to read some blog posts from my favs and then bedtime.
Tomorrow is Friday!!!! TGIF

Red Skies and sparkler fail!

Hey all!

So not much to report on today. Fiora and I just lazed around and I did some light housework.

It is actually my brother's birthday tomorrow(I guess it's actually technically today since it's past midnight) and I contacted some of the friends he has made on youtube since he started to doing iphone reviews. I sent out a big mas message asking if people would just make a short little video to say happy birthday and upload it on the day so my brother would be all surprised. And since I have my own channel too I figured I should probably make one to get the ball rolling(it is uploading as we speak!). Fiora helped me out and we sang happy brithday and everything, but my big idea failed!!! I came up with the idea to take sparklers out on the back deck once it got dark and light them and dance around, trying to spell my brother's name(Tony) in the sky.

It did not work at all!!!!

First, when I opened the package all the stuff that is stuck to the little metal wand that lights on fire just crumbled and felloff the wands and into the bottom of the plastic package!!! Oh No!!!!

Anywho,I found one that still had a reasonable amount of stuff on it, but as soon as I lit that one(two brocken matches later) it fizzled and refusedto work almost immediatly:(

So, Tony get's no sparklers for his b-day I guess.

The highlight of the day was that I noticed as it was getting dark, the sky was looking really pretty. We had had a little rain and some lightning and thunder that lasted for a couple hours and we didn't get a rainbow after, but we did get a very pretty sky. Take a look!

And have a great night!

The only skincare that works!(for me:)

Hey ya'll!!!! I know I haven't written a post in a while, but I have recently mae a resolution to start really keeping up my blog and youtube channel inseta of slacking off. Afterall I really do love blogging an making videos an it's a great way to make friends so I will be updating a lot more often!

Now, on to the reason for this post-skincare! I absolutly love Proactiv since I started using it years ago. It really clears up my very acne prone skin, which I was never able to do throughour high school with regular drug store products.

The only issue I had was that if I used it everynight, as I do with skincare, I would get these unbearable dry, irritated patches on my cheeks:( I somewhat recently told my sister(and fellow esthetician) about it and she got some different skincare for me through the spa she works at. Apparently this stuff had worked really well for her and my sister has beautiful skin so I was super excited to try it.

It was horrible!!!!

Not only did my skin break out like crazy, but the super thick moisturizer made my face into an oil slick. No amount or different type of makeup was able to hide the eruptions going on all over my face. Now, my sister advised me to be patient and that the cleanser was just bring all the bad stuff to the surface before it got rid of it. So I kept at it, hoping to see improvments soon. 3 months later, my face still looked nasty....this was the worst breakout of my life!

Needless to say I have stopped using the products and returned to old reliable:) I'm very happy to be using Proactiv again and my face is clearing up quickly. I did find a solution for the dry spots too...I went to my local health food store which also carries some skincare and hair care items and I picked up a natural moistuizing mask. Once a week I put the mask just on my cheeks (occasionally on my chin and forehead as well) and any irritationa nd redness immediatly goes away.

Soooo, I have come to the conclusion that Proactiv is the only skincare line for me, since it is the only one that's ever made a difference in my skin.

Does anyone else use it or have used it in the past? What do you think?
